These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the WholeBean app and related services (the "Service") provided by WholeBean ("WholeBean," "we," "us"). By downloading, accessing, or using WholeBean, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

In plain terms. WholeBean helps you identify and remember coffee. You own the content you create; we license the app to you. Bean information is provided to help you learn, not as a guarantee. Be respectful and lawful in how you use it.

1Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your region) to use WholeBean. If you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

2License to use the app

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use WholeBean for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law.

3Your content

You retain ownership of the content you create — your tasting notes, ratings, photos, and collection ("Your Content"). You grant WholeBean a limited license to host, store, sync, back up, and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you. You're responsible for ensuring you have the rights to any content you upload.

5Bean information & accuracy

WholeBean uses recognition technology and reference sources to identify beans and describe their origin, roast, and tasting notes. This information is provided for general informational and educational purposes and may be incomplete or inaccurate. When a match is uncertain, the app indicates this. Don't rely on WholeBean as the sole source for decisions where accuracy matters (for example, allergen or dietary concerns).

6Subscriptions & payments

WholeBean may offer paid subscriptions ("WholeBean Pro"). Subscriptions are billed through your Apple App Store account and are subject to Apple's terms. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price. You can manage or cancel renewals in your App Store account settings. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

7Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, logos, and content we provide, is owned by WholeBean and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our trademarks or branding.

8Third-party services

The Service may rely on or link to third-party services (such as Apple's platforms and our infrastructure providers). We're not responsible for third-party services, and your use of them may be governed by their own terms.

9Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that bean information will be accurate.

10Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WholeBean will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

11Termination

You may stop using WholeBean and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

12Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
